SKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FIIIINNNNAAAALLLLLYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Dad just phoned Sky and signed up a little while ago, so we now are finally getting it! They’re sending out the viewing card in the post in “about 5 days”, and we’re getting all six mixes plus Sport, and access to Sky HD. So the only thing we’re *not* getting in HD is Sky Movies HD 1 and Sky Movies HD 2. Still, there’s always Sky Box Office. :P

So anyway, I can finally put the Sky dish and my Sky HD box to good use. :D

Yay!

New Phone!

I got a new phone! A Sony Ericsson W880i, it’s the super-thin one, and it’s about half the thickness of my old V600i, and it’s got a memory card! At last! :D

Anyway, I got it off eBay, I bid for the black one but the guy sent me a silver one, which I’m not happy about, but the silver looks okay. I perfer the black (it has an orange back which looks damn nice), but the silver is okay (I guess). *shrugs*

Anyway, I’m debating whether to go and see Pirates 3 or Shrek 3 tonight at the cinema. I’m leaning toward Shrek as it’s had both good and bad reviews, whereas Pirates has had mainly bad reviews, with just a few good ones.

That’s all. ;)

Update: Didn’t go to the cinema. :( Also, Dad still won’t get Sky, so I’m still paying £15 per month to get low quality dodgy TV with only ten channels on my phone, compared to getting over 200 channels with a £15 Sky subscription on their proper TV service. Stupid eh?

New Bike…kinda

I got a new bike! Well…it’s not completely new, it’s actually a hire bike from the local bike place. What I did was last weekend I placed an order for a bike for me, a not-that-good Giant bike. It’s all dad would let me get unless I paid for it, and since I had no money, I’ll have to get a job or something and get a better one in a few months time.

So anyway, they said it would be in on Wednesday, however, it was delayed, because apparently Giant slashed the prices on a whole lot of their bikes recently, and some company bought all of them. So they said I’d have to give them back the lent one when my new one arrives.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Quite simply, wow. That was one hell of a good film. The visual effects alone are bloody amazing, and I would go back and see it again simply to see the part in London where they have that massive hole thing (see the trailer to see what I mean).

If you are reading this, you can probably afford the cinema, so go see it! :o

Cliffhangers, Sky HD, etc

First of all, I hate cliffhangers. I’ve just got into a new TV show called “Weeds”…yes, it is indeed about that illegal stuff, but it’s funny as hell! Anyway, the end of season 2 ends with this MASSIVE(ish) cliffhanger, which annoys me, because I have to wait until September to see what happens (still, better then the Feb 08 wait for season 4 of Lost). :(

Sky HD. Right, so, I ordered a Sky HD box off eBay. Yes, I know I got a Sky+ box just days ago, but since the HD boxes are pretty cheap on eBay anyway (brand new one for £150 if you look carefully :o ), I thought I’d get one. I can either sell the Sky+ box or keep it for multiroom if/when we get a better TV (more below). I paid for the Sky HD box with the money I got from my Xbox 360 (I sold it since I rarely use it for games anymore, and it’s only really sitting there being a DVD player).

Also, dad said to me on Thursday that he’s probably going to get himself and me a bike, even though it’s a really low end one. I want the Giant Terrago Trail, but it’s £425. I might get a job at Tesco (eek) or something though and get it for myself for Christmas. In fact if I got a job I could finally get a new phone too, the Sony Ericsson W880i. My SE V600i is getting dated. :(

My Logitech Z-5500s arrived today too. They’re pretty good, they look nice and produce a good sound. The BIG upside is I can lower the base a lot. The X-530 set that I had before had way too much bass, even with the level set to minimum. :(

Also, I went to see Ocean’s 13, and I must say, it’s the best of the three films so far (I think), just bypassing the 2nd one, Ocean’s 12. This new one is pretty…interesting, to say the least. There are a lot of things that you’d expect to happen, and they happen, but you’re still shocked. If that makes sense. lol. :P

Finally, I really want dad to get a new TV. We’ve got some cheap-o budget 19″ LCD TV at the moment, just until we get something better, but the colour reproduction on this one is horrific – people’s heads look all shiny, and don’t even ask me to explain what happens to shades of white. The TV I want is a 40″ Sony 1080p LCD HDTV, and it’s a really nice set. I saw it at the Sony store here in Stafford and it’s got very vibrant colours and looks the part too. It’s £1499 from there. (FYI: I had virtually the same TV, a 40″ LCD panel, but with a lower resolution in Australia, however dad sold it before we came to the UK. He promised he’d get another one here, which I’m still waiting for, as you can see…)

Logitech Z-5500 Digital and Sky+

1) I ordered a set of Logitech Z-5500 Digital 5.1 Speakers from eBuyer. They’re out of stock at the moment but one of the eBuyer staff said on the forums that they’re expecting about 100 in on around the 10th. :)

2) I got a cheap Sky+ box off eBay – £50, plus another £9 for the remote, and a viewing card that I’m bidding on. It’s not gonna have Sky+ functionality until I make dad sign up to Sky though (which he’s on the brink of doing because he wants the sport, and I want better quality TV). The signal where I live is utter rubbish.

You might be thinking “lol n00b, you need a dish too”. Well, there is one already, from the previous tenant, even has a dual LNB. :D

So, few deliveries coming these coming weeks. :D
