Now with a new and improved tagline!

I got myself a brand new PlayStation 3 today, along with MotorStorm and F1 Championship Edition.
I actually sold my HTPC as, tbh, I wasn’t using it for much except for watching the occasional TV show and movie.
It’s actually pretty good, the interface is really smooth and, to be honest, it feels easier to use then the Xbox 360. I’d also say that I prefer the interface of the PlayStation Store to the Xbox Live Marketplace, however, there are like 50 items total. Xbox Live Marketplace has HUNDREDS of downloadable demos, videos, and more. The PS Store is just…well….empty. You can probably download the entire contents of the store in about a day with a fast connection, whereas you’d need about a week for the Xbox one.
Otherwise, I’ve not played any of the games much yet, but so far they look great. Motorstorm is great fun.
I’m hoping to expand my collection soon with a few extra games like DiRT, Need for Speed ProStreet, Midnight Club: Los Angeles, and Ridge Racer 7.
On a side note, wtf. There’s an option in the settings to configure a printer. Yes, a printer. On a games console? Now that is cool. ![]()

Can’t wait for some of them games to. Don’t know wither to get NFS: PS for Xbox 360 or PC to use the G25 with it.
And a printer wtf mate!
Yup. Only option I can see so far is for printing photos. However, the PlayStation Eye might make a use of it when it’s out.
Yeah, the printer options perplexed me, too. (My mate’s got a PS3) as well as the lack of antenna for the Wi-Fi connection.
I wonder what printers it will support. =P
What’re the odds you’ll whack linux on it?
Isn’t the OS Linux-based anyway?
Or, you should put Yellow Dog Linux on there. ^_^
I probably will have a try soon. At least that way I might be able to make it play all my existing high definition H264 mkv’s.
I’m not sure if the OS is linux-based, because theoretically, at least, that means they’d need to release the source to comply with the license…
Yellow Dog isn’t the only version of linux you can put on there, so see what suits you first. I’d be going for Ubuntu myself ’cause it’s got a big repository of apps, even for the PPC version.
I was just looking at the Ubuntu option - I think it can be run as a live CD too, which is fine for what I want it for.

Yeah, but you must still format the hard drive in order to install the proper bootloader as far as i can see…
